SIMDir is not a "Document Management System“ (DMS) in a common sense, it is a “Document Control System”. The important difference is that SIMDir does not store your data in complex database systems, instead SIMDir uses Standard Windows Folders leveraging Windows itself. To put it simply SIMDir acts as a seamless conduit to Windows own folders. SIMDir does this by managing and controlling Windows folder structures, Document templates, document naming and even assigns incremental numbering schemes to controlled document names and all this within the confines of the "Shared Network Folders". SIMDIR Provides data management and data controll that no other knowledge management or data management solution can. By leaveraging windows, it provides an easy to use interface to prevent the lost file rage.
